About Us

Welcome to American Barn and Wood.  We are a reclaimed lumberyard centrally located between San Francisco, Los Angeles and Bakersfield.  We enjoy getting to know our customers and are genuinely excited about the barn wood projects that they are creating.

We are a family owned business that prides itself on top notch customer service and reasonable prices.  Working directly with barn salvage crews in the Midwest allows us to keep our barn wood affordable.

Let us help you make your barn wood project happen.

Woody's Story

Several years ago, a scraggly, scrawny, stray tabby wandered into our reclaimed wood lumberyard.  After a thorough vet check, we asked our Social media followers to "Name the Cat".  The name Woody was the fans' choice. Woody now calls American Barn and Wood his home.  He welcomes our barn wood customers with a contented purr.  Woody wanted to help other feral cats in need, so he created a "Woody Calendar" and raised over $300 for his nonprofit group of choice,  North County Paws Cause .  He is a social media sensation.

Besides Woody, one may also spot his family, Mama Kitty and Splinter.  If you keep your eyes open, you can find these two elusive girls.

Our Barn Raising
Over the years, we locate barns that will be dismantled and are worthy of resurrection rather than salvaged.  We have had several of our customers purchase whole barn frames, but we sought to save one for ourselves. A barn in the little town of Conquest, New York would answer the quest. After being built in 1840, this barn got a second chance at life 2014.  After much washing, scrubbing, nailing, pegging, sawing, and sanding wood beams, barn wood, and barn hardware, the barn now stands as an off-sight showroom. Enjoy this video of the rebuilding of the Conquest Barn.
